Philly drops game two 7-3 to Marlins
Cole Hamels pitched his second consecutive bad game as the Phillies lost 7-3 to the Marlins and dropped out of first place. The real ace of the Phillies was hammered again which has me worried. They need him to be a pitcher they can count on to give them a solid 7-8 innings every time he goes out to the mound. With his stuff he should be one of the top pitchers in baseball and until his last 2 starts he has been just that. One question with Hamels has been can he stay healthy for an entire season which includes him staying strong so he has all his pitches working for him.
The offense which has been the hottest in baseball didn’t show up for the first time in a while. The only bright spot was Utley hitting his league leading 19 homer this season. With his homer he has set a Philly record for the most home runs hit before June.
