Philly bats die as the Red defeat them 2-0

Brett Myers pitches his third straight great start but the Phillies can not get any offense all night so they drop the 3rd game to the Reds 2-0.Myers pitched no hit ball for 6 2/3 inning then let up a two 2 strike hit that knocked in the game winning run.

Edinson Volquez, who is the National League ERA leader. The hard throwing young pitcher threw seven scoreless innings, and lowered his ERA from 1.46 to 1.32. This is the 4th straight time he has shut time the Phillies bats.

The Phillies did have some chances to score. Three innings in a row they had runners in scoring position buy failed to get the big hit.
